New Esab 200-A Inverter Equipped for Thin Sheet Metal Welding
February 24, 2023Comments
Esab Welding & Cutting Products has introduced the Rogue ET 200iP Pro, a 200-A inverter-based welding-power supply for gas-tungsten-arc (GTA)W and shielded-metal-arc (SMAW) welding that features full-function digital controls. The unit weighs 21.2 lb., reportedly one-third lighter than competitive units, and delivers a 200-A GTAW output at 25-percent duty cycle.
Esab officials note that the power supply provides the arc control required for delicate welds and the power to run 5/32-in. SMAW electrodes, as well as the arc characteristics required for all types of electrodes including 6010 and 7018. And, when procedures call for a GTAW root and SMAW fill passes, the Rogue ET 200iP PRO produces X-ray-quality results.
The unit provides a pulsed-DC GTAW output range of 0.1 to 500 pulses/sec. and delivers a stable arc at 10 A; it proves ideal for stainless-steel fabricators and those working with thin sheet metal or other heat-sensitive applications where pulsed-DC GTAW enables control of heat input, as well as delivering a narrow weld-bead profile and increased travel speed.
