Lincoln Electric Donates to Welder-Recruiting Drive
July 1, 2008Comments The American Welding Society (AWS), Miami, FL, announced that The Lincoln Electric Co., Cleveland, OH, will donate $300,000 to the AWS Foundation to support its campaign to relieve a nationwide shortage of welders. In addition to the donation, Lincoln Electric will collaborate with the AWS Foundation on new marketing initiatives to promote welding careers and help bolster the ranks of welders.
The donation will support the AWS Foundation’s Welder Workforce Development Program, launched in 2006 as part of its $10 million campaign—Welding for the Strength of America—aimed at facilitating programs, scholarships and other initiatives to support the welding industry.
