The American Welding Society (AWS), Miami, FL, has launched the AWS ARCademy video series, to help guide those interested in taking the steps to educate themselves towards a welding career.  “Our main goal for these videos is to help those looking for some basic understanding of welding without overwhelming them,” says Stephanie Hoffman, program manager workforce development, AWS Foundation, and video co-host. Co-host Joe Young, senior manager workforce development, expects that the videos will make a positive impact on up-and-coming welders looking to polish their skills and expand their knowledge, adding, “the video series will provide a basic crash course into welding.”

Video topics include how to use common workshop tools, how to understand welding symbols, and the top five mistakes to avoid during gas-metal-, gas-tungsten-, and shielded-metal-arc welding.
