100-Ton Beckwood Ascent Press Headed to Bull Moose Tube

Beckwood Press Company, St. Louis, MO, announced plans to supply a 100-ton Ascent press to steel tube and pipe manufacturer Bull Moose Tube, Chesterfield, MO. Beckwood launched the Ascent line of standard gib-guided presses in January 2022 to fill a need in the marketplace for high-quality standard forming equipment with lower upfront costs.
Bull Moose Tube’s direct-form tube manufacturing method forms structural tubes directly from steel coil, which eliminates a mother tube or prior-stage process. It will use the new press, which features a four-point gib-guidance system, an 18 by 24-in. working area, and a manual control system, at its Sinton, TX, facility, for pressure testing weld seals on steel tubing.
