ATI Industrial Automation, Apex, NC, has introduced the MC-50 manual tool changer, designed to optimize performance, reliability and quality during manual exchange of robotic and cobotic end-of-arm (EOA) tooling. The device, which features intuitive and ergonomic lever operation, is designed for applications on collaborative robots (cobots) that support payloads to 25 kg, and small industrial robots supporting payloads to 10 kg.
Featuring an ISO 50-mm mounting interface on both the master and tool side, the low-profile MC-50 mounts directly to most cobots, and seamlessly integrates with many common grippers and end effectors. A safety latch button on the lever provides secondary locking for increased safety and to prevent involuntary uncoupling.
A variety of electrical and pneumatic utilities for downstream end effectors are supported through four M5 integrated pneumatic passthrough ports and a mounting flat for optional ATI utility modules.
