DoE AM Lab Implements Sensor System to Help Optimize the DMLS Process

The Department of Energy’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is collaborating with Stratonics, Inc., to integrate a Stratonics ThermaViz sensor system into its direct-metal laser-sintering (DMLS) process. The sensor system will help researchers correlate actual melt-pool characterizations to simulation-model data.
