BeAM Machines SAS, a European manufacturer of directed-energy-deposition additive-manufacturing machines, has opened its U.S subsidiary, BeAM Machines, Inc., in Cincinnati, OH. Heading up the 20,000-sq.-ft. BeAM Machines, Inc., U.S. facility is Tim Bell, who leads a team handling sales, service, process development, applications, research and development and training.
Says BeAM CEO Emeric d’Arcimoles, “Opening a U.S subsidiary is a major milestone, given the prospects for robust and rapid growth harbored by the American market.”
BeAM machines include the Mobile, optimized for small and medium production volumes as well as for the repair of thin and complex parts; the Magic 2.0 large-scale five-axis machine designed for serial production or repair of high-value components in industries with long lead times and high buy-to-fly ratios; and the Modulo, a smaller fully integrated five-axis serial production machine for use in constrained-space environments or in remote places such as oil rigs and military conflict zones.
