HP Inc. has tapped Ramon Pastor as its global head and general manager of 3D metals, anchored by the company’s Metal Jet binder jetting technology. No stranger to additive manufacturing (AM) efforts at HP, Pastor was instrumental in developing the initial business plan for launching the company’s plastics AM business, and has managed both the metals and plastics AM units for HP.
Pastor, along with Didier Deltort, the incoming president of HP’s Personalization and 3D Printing business, and Guayente Sanmartin, the new global head and general manager of 3D Printing Multi Jet Fusion, responsible for HP’s plastics 3D printing organization, are based in Barcelona, Spain, home to the HP 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing Center of Excellence.
“Today, if you look at market sizing and trajectory, metals is growing the most of any 3D printing segment,” he offers in an exclusive interview with 3D Metal Printing. “HP is very bullish on metals, and so am I.”
