GKN Powder Metallurgy Opens AM Customer Center

GKN Powder Metallurgy, Radevormwald, Germany, has opened its North American powder metallurgy headquarters and additive manufacturing (AM) customer center in Auburn Hills, MI. The 38,260-sq-ft. facility expands the company's global AM network and extends its scope of in-house powder metallurgy capabilities. The building houses more than 80 employees from the three GKN Powder Metallurgy businesses (Hoeganaes, GKN Sinter Metals, and GKN Additive), includes 20,700 sq. ft. of collaborative working areas and 17,700 sq. ft. of shop floor space. The building also includes a 3200-sq-ft. space additive equipped with two EOS M290 direct metal laser sintering printers incorporating powder-bed fusion technology.
