New Steel Service Center Coming to the Port of Indiana
June 1, 2012CommentsRoseville, MN-based Ratner Steel, a provider of full-line flat-rolled steel sheet and plate, announced plans to locate a new facility at the Port of Indiana. Ratner will invest $14.25 million to construct and equip the 102,000-sq.-ft. steel-service center at the Lake Michigan port. The facility, slated to open early in 2013, is expected to employ as many as 30 people by 2015. It will provide support to the 30 companies now operating at the Port of Indiana, which handled more than 2 million tons of cargo in 2011.
