Tom Busse, president/CEO of metal former Rockford Toolcraft, Inc. (RTI), Rockford, IL, announced that the firm will build a 33,330-sq.-ft. addition to its Plant 2 (at 5455 11th St.). The move comes on the heels of Busse’s purchase of the company from his father, Jerry Busse, last October. Partnering with Cord Construction, the building addition, as well as a parking-lot expansion, will help facilitate RTI’s present needs and future growth. Plant 2 will now comprise a total of 225,000 sq ft.; Plant 1 (766 Research Parkway) boasts 175,000 sq. ft. The firm specializes in heavy-gauge stampings and metal stamping dies.
Says Busse: “Thank you to our 400 employees and more than 100 customers that have helped us get to where we are. Most of all, we want to thank our founder, Jerry Busse, who guided and molded our company to what it is today. We wish him the best in his retirement.”
