Guelph Metalformer/ Fabricator Receives Ontario Development-Program Funding

Melitron Corp., Guelph, Ontario, Canada, a full-service contract manufacturer of precision metal components, electronic chassis, enclosures, frames and the like, received a $400,000 grant from the Southern Ontario Development Program (SODP). The firm expects to use the funds to install new equipment and upgrade its facility by reconfiguring its equipment layout to implement lean-manufacturing principles. It also plans to undertake an energy-savings initiative to reduce consumption of electricity, natural gas and water. The project is among more than 60 projects funded by the SODP through 2010.
