Hougen Manufacturing, Inc. highlights its newly released portable magnetic drill kit—the HMD2MT Fabricator’s Kit. The all-in-one offering combines the HMD2MT magnetic drill along with a tapping kit, drill chuck adapter and a ½-in. drill chuck. This enables the operator to drill holes with Hougen annular cutters; drill small through or blind holes with a drill chuck; and tap holes. In addition, optional accessories can be used with the drill such as taper shank drills, reamers, countersinks and more. Powered by a two-speed motor with a forward/reverse option for use when tapping holes, the drill includes a double dovetail slide that allows adjustment of the motor assembly to a higher level to accommodate longer tooling or extended depth of cut, giving the drill a 7-in. stroke. It comes standard with a pilot light to help with lining the holes’ center locations in low-light conditions.

The addition of a two-stage magnet increases magnetic holding power by 30 percent when the drill motor is turned on, saving energy and increasing magnet life.
