solar-atmospheres-chesterfield-nadcapSolar Atmospheres of Michigan, Chesterfield, MI, has achieved Nadcap AC7101/4 accreditation for its captive metallography laboratory. The accreditation will allow the Chesterfield plant to test for microhardness, surface contamination, intergranular oxidation and grain size, tests previously performed at the company’s facility in Warren, MI. In addition to the testing capabilities, the addition of new metallographic-preparation equipment and metallography software expands the Chesterfield facility’s ability to conduct R&D and assist in new product development.

Says plant metallurgist Greg Scheuring, “This was the next step in moving operations from Warren to Chesterfield.”
