Press-Feed Control Optimizes Motion Profile
October 1, 2010Dallas Industries, Troy, MI, will showcase its new ProfileSelect Feed Control, which automatically matches the speed of feed advance to the available feed window and press-speed requirement. Stampers input the speed of the press, feed-angle window and feed length, and the control utilizes the full feed window of the press to automatically generate a smooth feed-motion profile. While traditional feed controls use a trapezoidal motion profile that can create quick, sudden motions that increase the chance of slipping, the ProfileSelect control establishes a sinusoidal profile (cam motion) to provide smooth material feed.
