Nidec Acquires Automatic Feed Co., Lasercoil and Automatic Leasing

Nidec Corp. announced that it has acquired full ownership of privately owned Automatic Feed Co., Lasercoil Technologies LLC and Automatic Leasing Co. Together, the three companies become a consolidated subsidiary of Nidec, with headquarters in Napoleon, OH, and are responsible for manufacturing and selling peripheral equipment for medium and large presses, and sheet metal cutting equipment for presses. 

Automatic Feed designs and manufactures coil-processing machinery and systems. The company has primarily been recognized for providing automotive OEMs and Tier-One suppliers with automated, high-speed blanking, cut-to-length, and laser blanking lines for surface-critical applications.

“This acquisition provides Automatic Feed a more competitive global footprint as well as complementary products within the same integrated group,” says Nidec Press & Automation CEO David Winch. “Metal formers are continuing to be tasked with an increasing amount of challenges and need a partner who can provide more integrated and full line solutions at a consistent high quality level, while providing a streamlined and effective customer support relationship.”

Headquartered in Minster, OH, Nidec Press & Automation serves as the global metal forming division for Nidec Corp.
