United Tool & Machine (UTM), Wilmington, MA, a contract manufacturer specializing in wire-EDM, CNC and manual machining, sheetmetal fabrication, and stamping, has acquired HRI Precision Tool Co., Haverhill, MA.
HRI has capabilities in assembly, tooling manufacturing and CNC machining, and is expected to bolster UTM’s existing line of services, according to UTM officials.
“We see tremendous value in developing relationships with several of HRI’s key customers and the diversification it brings to our customer base,” says Scott Fallavollita, UTM president. “HRI is highly regarded as a company that invested a lot into the planning and engineering of a job upfront and did a lot of work beyond the scope of traditional CNC machine shop.”
In addition to the two companies merging, Harry Learned, HRI president, will join UTM as a technical sales engineer.
