TigerStop, Vancouver, WA, a manufacturer of automated stop/gauge and pusher systems, introduced its SawGear add-on automation equipment for Piranha ironworkers, designed to automate shearing and punching operations. With SawGear added to the shearing station, the operator just enters the part length into the SawGear controller and the stop moves to position. The operator then places workpiece material through the shear against the stop, and cuts.

The SawGear employs an angled pusher arm that can easily be adjusted to accommodate different material sizes. Shops that shear large quantities of different-length parts will experience labor savings, improved accuracy and increased output without having to invest in new machinery.

Also available for Piranha ironworkers: the TigerStop automated punching setup, which comes with a stop, back fence, table and interconnect kit. It allows users to download cut lists and run the tool with an incremental movement or pattern list. Users also can place material, enter a length and use the TigerStop as an automated stop. Every time the material moves, the operator uses the foot pedal to cycle the tool.
