Mazak Partners to Deliver Fab-Automation Solutions

Mazak Optonics Corp., Elgin, IL, has partnered with Italian automation-system manufacturer Tekmag, to provide the firm’s automation and storage solutions to the North American market. Tekmag products include sheet load and unload systems and complete automated storage and retrieval systems. Each operates with Mazak Line Controller software to optimize efficiency by minimizing machine downtime. Tekmag also carries compact vertical systems, able to automatically and quickly move large volumes of material while occupying minimal space.

FPN editors spied a Tekmag eight-shelf FMS on display at FABTECH, designed to expand to as many as 24 shelves. The system was demonstrated with Mazak’s Optiplex 3015 fiber-laser cutting machine.
