Trumpf will present the latest addition to its TruBend Series 7000. The compact (140 by 70 in.) TruBend 7050 bends with a press force of 55 tons and has a bending length of 60 in. A six-axis backgauge helps position components precisely. The gauge fingers move quickly, traveling 60 in./sec. along the X axis and 87 in./sec. along the Z axis. It comes with a wireless angle measuring system. Metal contact plates at the bottom of the sensor tools send a signal to the machine when they touch the sheet metal. The machine uses these signals to calculate the bending angle. A new control panel simplifies programming on the shop floor with streamlined views showing just the essentials so users can quickly find the right screen for entering data using the touchpad. Tool handling is made more convenient with an LED strip on the upper tool clamp indicating where the operator must set up tools and, while forming, where the next bend will be. The 7050 also features pull-out tool storage drawers within arm’s reach of operation.
