Making its U.S. debut is the Trumpf Flex Cell mobile bending cell, automating the TruBend 7050 press brake and described as the company’s fastest bending cell ever. In a few simple steps, operators can dock the mobile robot cell onto the bending machine and operate it automatically, and the machine can run autonomously for several hours. The compact footprint of the Flex Cell and the TruBend 7050 measures less than 107 sq. ft.

The cell’s double-sized material buffer ensures that it has enough material to feed the press brake throughout a night shift, and the robot arm’s vacuum combination gripper enables rapid and safe loading and unloading. Using Trumpf TecZone Bend software, a bending program can be created in just a few seconds, with the operator then able to program the robot by means of an app and the teach panel.

The Flex Cell is suitable for components sized to 23.6 by 15.75 in., and can process sheet metal from 0.03 to 0.23 in. thick.
