40-Ton Electric-Drive Press Brake

LVD Strippit has introduced the Dyna-Press 40/15 Pro to its Dyna-Press series of high-speed electric-drive press brakes. The 40-ton press brake features a 59-in. working length and a precision five-axis backgauge, and can bend at speeds to 1 in./sec. The press brake can be combined with an industrial robot to create a compact, high-speed robotic bending cell.
The Dyna-Press electric ram offers a smooth transition from approach to working speed and minimizes power consumption through the use of an optimal power to inertia motor ratio, according to company officials. Two heavy-duty ball screws provide the coupling between the ram and the servo motors, enabling even force and tonnage distribution across the working length, and reportedly providing rapid, energy-efficient operation across a range of bending jobs.
The press brake comes equipped with a five-axis backgauge to provide consistent accuracy, with a vertical-removal tooling style that allows simple and rapid change-over. Operators can sit or stand while operating the machine, with an Iris Lazer Safe guarding system providing for added safety.
