Harrington Hoists’ Growth Spurt
The manufacturing plant in Manheim, PA, which has served as the home of Har- rington Hoists, Inc., no longer is large enough to support the company’s growth, so the firm has leased a 97,000- sq.-ft. facility in Elizabeth- town, PA, to house its ware- housing and assembly operations. The new facility should be operational by May 2013; operations, fabrication and production manufactur- ing remains at the Manheim plant. Harrington Hoists man- ufactures electric-chain and wire-rope hoists, air-powered hoists, lever hoists, trolleys, cranes and other products.
Graebener-Reika Sets Up Shop in PA
A 12,000-sq.-ft. facility in Reading, PA, is the new home of the engineering, sales and service staff of Grabener-Reika, Inc., a manu- facturer of a variety of fabri- cating equipment for tube, pipe, plate and sheet. The firm, a joint venture between German companies Graeben- er Machinintechnik and Reika, and Automatic Feed Co., Napoleon, OH, manufac- tures hydraulic, hydroforming and hot-stamping presses, pipe-bending and end-bevel- ing machines, and much more.
Rollformer Opens Third Shop,
This Time in Las Vegas
American Roll Form Prod- ucts, Painesville, OH, a man- ufacturer of custom roll- formed products, has opened a 40,000-sq.-ft. plant in North Las Vegas, NV, to support customers and
projects located in the South- west. Two rolling mills began operating in March; a third mill is scheduled for startup in June.
Metal Supermarkets to Open Third Dallas-Area Store
Fabricators, tool and die makers, machine shops and other buyers of small quanti- ties of metal-alloy products in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, area soon will have a new store to shop at, as Metal Supermarkets has begun a sight search for its third store in the area. When the new store opens this spring, it will be the franchise’s 67th location.
Arku Leveler Headed to Mayville
To reduce scrap resulting from uneven sheetmetal parts that caused welding and forming problems, Mayville Engineering Co., Mayville, WI, has purchased a FlatMaster 55 precision leveler from Arku Coil Sys- tems Inc., Cincinnati, OH. The leveler is rated for mate- rial to 1⁄2 in. thick. Mayville Engineering performs sheet- metal and plate cutting, form- ing, stamping, machining, welding and assembly.
