Penn Stainless Products is Laser-Beam Cutting Thick Stainless-
Steel Plate
A new Tanaka TF6000 6-kW laser-cutting machine installed at Penn Stainless Products, Quakertown, PA, is outfitted with optional nitro- gen-gas-flow technology that enables cutting of stainless- steel plate to 11⁄8 in. thick. Cutting envelope: 13 by 62 ft., with a tolerance of ±0.10 in. and less than 1 deg. of edge taper.
Certifications
The Robotic Industries Association (RIA) has named Genesis Systems Group, Dav- enport, IA, a certified robot integrator. Genesis is the eighth company to receive the designation since RIA intro- duced the certification pro- gram in January 2012.
Yarde Metals, headquar- tered in Southington, CT, and with 16 U.S. locations, has earned AS9100:2009 Rev. C certification, the quality-man- agement system certification for the aerospace and defense industries. Rev. C focuses specifically on cus- tomer satisfaction and quali- ty by emphasizing risk man- agement and mitigation, supply-chain management controls, and planning and project management. Yarde Metals supplies aluminum, brass and carbon- and stain- less-steel sheet, plate, tube, pipe, rod and bar.

blade manufacturer Ameri- can Punch Co., Cleveland, OH, has been recertified to ISO 9001:2008. The firm also supplies precision die components to metal stam- pers and rollformers.
People
Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., Cleveland, OH, named John M. Stropki, Jr., execu- tive chairman of the board (he had been chairman, pres- ident and CEO of the firm), and Christopher L. Mapes president and CEO, effective December 31, 2012. Mapes has served as the welding- equipment manufacturer’s CEO since September 2011.
Trumpf Inc., Farmington, CT, appointed Shane Simp- son regional manager of machine tool sales (laser cutting, punching, combina- tion punch-laser and press- brake equipment) for the mid-Atlantic region of the United States; and Tom Bai- ley product manager in North America for the firm’s press- brake product line, including the TruBend and BendMaster brands. Stephen Bundschu is the new vice president of engineering and manufactur- ing. He will oversee the firm’s machine assembly, compo- nents, sheetmetal, tooling and purchasing depart- ments, while continuing to manage the engineering department, which he has done as director of engineer- ing since 2004. Dr. Christof Lehner has been appointed general manager of the Trumpf Laser Technology Center in Plymouth, MI. He’ll oversee laser-division sales for the company as well as service and support for
