EWI Acquires Sciaky EBAM Machine

Sciaky, Inc., Chicago, IL, and EWI announced plans to work together to produce prototype 3D metal-printed parts using a Sciaky electron-beam additive-manufacturing (EBAM) system slated for installation at EWI. Both companies plan to market their 3D metal-printing capabilities to manufacturers in a variety of industries.
Sciaky’s scalable EBAM machines can produce parts as large as 19 ft. long, with deposition rates from 7 to 20 lb./hr. And, using a dual-wirefeed option, the machine can combine two different metal alloys into a single melt pool to create a “custom alloy.”
