NIMS, LIFT and Ivy Tech Release New Skills Credentials

Almetals, Inc., Wixom, MI, has redesigned its website, www.almetals.com, to provide a unique, new look with new features. It now includes a Find My Metal function, which allows users to find exactly what they are seeking, accord- ing to company officials. As a timesaver, when the user finds the metals needed, the Request a Quote form will automatically pre-populate the information.
The National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS), Lightweight Innovations for Tomorrow (LIFT) and Ivy Tech Community College (located throughout Indiana) are mak- ing available a new set of skills credentials and training to help fill open manufactur- ing jobs in states along the Midwest auto-corridor. The partners are releasing nine new NIMS credentials that validate key skills and compe- tencies needed for industrial- technology maintenance jobs, which represent a criti- cal and growing function in high-tech manufacturing focused on new technologies and innovation, according to LIFT officials.
