Strip Wiper Cleans Material Prior to Feed, Lubrication
Norton Abrasives, Worcester, MA, introduced its color-coded RapidFinish nonwoven convolute wheels for finishing applications. The new wheels offer a 30-percent improve-
ment in finish time as compared to pre-

The new Strip Wiper from Raziol Zibulla & Sohn GmbH, used prior to material feed or lubricant application in the production process, removes dirt particles and residue from prior lubrication to ensure a defined surface quality of the strip material for fol- low-up processes.
Clean Bond technology reportedly delivers smear-free finish on a range of materials including high-nickel- content alloys and soft metals, thus eliminating rework and reducing fin- ishing steps.
Dirt particles or residue from prior lubrication, such as mill oil, are removed by synthetic felt pressed against the strip material by two pneumatic cylinders. The felt can be automatically moistened with evaporating lubricants to improve the cleaning process. Wear parts, such as the felt, are quickly and easily exchangeable, according to company officials, and a simple retrofit at existing production lines is possible.
