 Bliss Presses are Back
A familiar name in the metalforming industry is back: For the first time in decades, a new press branded under the name of renowned U.S. manufacturer Bliss was presented by Schuler at FABTECH. At the show, Schuler displayed a 250-mton Bliss
press with state-of-the- art controls, specially designed for the North American market.
• Automatic blankholder adjustment; and
• A last-bend-down capability.

machine now available with a 6-kW resonator and equipped with a new air-cooled cutting head with adjustable optics for cutting both thin and thick materials. A new collimator enables quick adjustment for cutting materials of different thicknesses. Salvagnini.com: www.salvagnini.com
Drive and Motion-Control Technology
says Paul Nicholson, CEO of Schuler North America. “We have more than $10 million of parts in inventory and service centers all over the continent.”

The Bliss press showcased at FABTECH formed bottle openers as a giveaway for customers at the Schuler booth. The machine structure has been sourced in the Schuler Group and completely remanufactured at the BCN site in Hastings, MI. Available with both Allen-Bradley and Omron controls, Bliss presses are configured for the Internet of Things with features such as condition monitoring and remote access/diagnostics.

motion controller.
This family ranges from the compact MTX micro with integrated CNC, PLC, drives and IO, to MTX system controls that are scalable to as many as hundreds of axes. The newest platform version supports another multi-core CPU—the CML 75 with control of as many as 64 axes and 12 channels. All MTX systems are Industry 4.0-ready.
Salvagnini showcased its all-electric P1 panel bender (pictured), newly redesigned for flexible kit and single-piece part production. This includes automatic blankholder setup, as well as universal tooling and programming software for 2D drawings and for 3D models that adds built-in skill and craftsmanship to the forming process.
Also showcased was cabinet-free drive technology, with the new IndraDrive Mi including a cabinet-free power supply (pictured). This design eliminates drive electronics from the cabinet and allows machine builders to mount a more compact controls enclosure directly to the machine, freeing plant-floor space. The latest generation features additional safety functions, Sercos and multi-Ethernet communication, intelligent control functions and an energy-efficient power supply.
