 Thermadyne Name Change Reflects a Return to its Roots
Thermadyne Holdings Corp., St. Louis, MO, has changed its name to Victor Tech- nologies Group, Inc., “to reposition the company in the marketplace and return to our roots,” says CEO Martin Quinn, who calls Victor the company’s strongest and most established brand. The firm manu- factures cutting, welding and gas-control products under several brand names, including Victor, Tweco, Arcair, Thermal Dynamics and Thermal Arc.
Atlantic Tool & Die Ramps up Diemaking in China
Guangzhou Atlantic Tool & Die (GATD), wholly owned by Atlantic Tool & Die, Cleveland, OH, now is offering tool and diemaking services to its cus- tomers. The Chinese facility offers wire- EDM capabilities, state-of-the-art tool simulation to verify designs, and other services.

Andy J. Egan Co., Grand Rapids, MI, earned the top spot among West Michi- gan’s 101 Best and Brightest Compa- nies to Work For, presented by the Michi- gan Business and Professional Association to companies that excel in 11 key human-resources categories. The company, a mechanical contractor and fabricator, has made the list for the last six years, and proudly sits atop the list this year for the first time. Interplex Facility Earns Zero-PPM Award
In 2011, Interplex Sunbelt, Tamarac, FL, shipped more than 10 million preci- sion stamped parts to Stoneridge Con- trol Devices/Lexington division with zero
defects, and for that the Interplex Indus- tries division earned a Zero-PPM award. Stoneridge designs and manufactures electrical and electronic components, modules and systems principally for the commercial-vehicle, automotive, agricul- tural and off-highway vehicle markets. Interplex Sunbelt provides precision metal-stamping and reel-to-reel insert- molding services, and flex-circuit assembly.

Chuck Damore has been named president of Braner USA, Inc., Schiller Park, IL, a manufacturer of flat-rolled coil-processing equipment including slit- ting and cut-to-length lines. Damore pre- viously served the company as executive vice president and sales manager.
The McGregor Metalworking Compa- nies, Springfield, OH, welcomed Barbara Snyder as EHS (environmental health and safety) manager. She’ll be based at the company’s Morgal contract-manufac- turing facility in Springfield.
Arbor Metals, a metal-processing and distribution facility in Dallas, TX, promot- ed Travis Wheaton to product manager for its gasket and banding markets, focused on stainless-steel and other nickel- and exotic-alloy products. The firm also announced that Kim Sibley will transition from production scheduling to a new role in inside sales. Arbor Metals recently installed its 14th slitting line.
