Hypertherm Issues Corporate Social Responsibility Report
Cutting-system manufac- turer Hypertherm, Hanover, NH, has released its first-ever Corporate Social responsibili- ty (CSR) report, tracking its philanthropic and environmen- tal initiatives. Among its high- lights: two-thirds of Hyper- therm employees volunteered in the community within the past year, and the Hypertherm Owners’ Philanthropic Endeav- ors Foundation provided fund- ing and other support to more than 60 nonprofit organiza-

Demand in the United States for heating, ventila- tion and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment is project- ed to increase 5.1 percent annually through 2015, according to a new study from The Freedonia Group, Cleveland, OH. ment provider Jervis B. Webb Co., Farmington Hills, MI, has achieved ISO 14001:2004 certification for its North American plants in Harbor Springs and Boyne City, MI, and its corporate headquarters. The standard requires com- panies to continually improve their environmental performance and implement a systematic approach to setting and achieving envi- ronmental targets and objectives. As part of its efforts to comply to ISO 14001, Jervis B. Webb initi- ated recycling programs to minimize waste. To date, its two manufacturing plants have recycled more than 1000 lb. of plastic shrink- wrap. The facilities also
