LVD, Pullmax Combine
Key Operations
Belgium’s LVD Company and Sweden’s Pullmax AB have entered into an agree- ment to combine sales, serv- ice, production and research- and-development efforts, while maintaining their inde- pendent corporate identities. Among the agreement’s terms: LVD will manufacture Pullmax punching machines, and Pullmax will represent LVD’s laser-cutting, punching, bending and shearing equip-
ment, as well as its software and mid-range automation products.
Lincoln Electric
Acquires Arc Products
Southern-California-based Arc Products, a manufacturer of orbital-welding systems and welding-automation prod- ucts for welding pipe and tube, has been acquired by Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., Cleveland, OH. “Orbital welding is one of the fastest growing segments of our industry,” says Lincoln Elec- tric chairman and CEO John Stropki, who also notes that the Arc Products product line married to Lincoln Electric’s welding-power-supply technol- ogy and its applications-engi- neering expertise will “allow us to quickly build a global leadership position in this important segment.”

Ground on New
North American HQ
A new 48,300-sq.-ft. building is on the way up in Elgin, IL, soon to become the North American headquar- ters of Bystronic Inc., Haup- pauge, NY, a manufacturer of laser- and waterjet-cutting equipment, press brakes and system software.
The new location, which will serve as the firm’s mar- keting, sales and training headquarters for North Amer- ica, will house a 14,000-sq.- ft. showroom, 10,000 sq. ft. of office space and a 24,300-sq.-ft. area for spare parts and logistics.
