Hoist and crane manu- facturer Harrington Hoists, Manheim, PA, has complet- ed the expansion of its office space and warehouse in Corona, CA, to accommo- date additional manufactur- ing, personnel and product storage. The firm produces electric- and air-powered chain hoists and trolleys, electric wire-rope hoists and trolleys, overhead cranes and crane accessories, and more.
Orchid Doubles the Size
of its Mexican Facility
Orchid International has moved its Monterrey alu- minum diecasting operation into a new 62,000-sq.-ft. facility in Apodaca. The new facility more than doubles the company’s manufactur- ing floor space from its orig- inal facility, which Orchid acquired from Hawk Motors in November 2006. The Orchid diecasting plant ships more than 80,000 aluminum diecast electric- motor rotors per week, and the company is considering adding general stamping and assembly to its new and larger facility. Waukesha Tool & Stamping Launches Plex Online
Full-service metalform- ing company Waukesha Tool & Stamping, LLC, Sussex, WI, has gone live with its new Plex Online software, designed to encompass more than 350 modules for managing manufacturing enterprises. Waukesha Tool & Stamping is using mod-
ules for quoting, EDI, proj- ect-resource planning, pur- chasing, human resources, financials and costing. It’s using Plex Online, from Plex Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI, to manage operations in Sussex and at its plant in McAllen, TX.
“Plex already is giving us more reliable data on our costs, saving us time in the customer-service area, streamlining purchasing and planning, and helping us better manage our manu- facturing and quality,” says company controller Nancy Nyhan.
Canadian Machinery Builder Expands
Burlington Automation, Burlington, Ontario, Cana- da, a designer and builder of automatic CNC metal- fabricating equipment, tube-finishing equipment and material-handling sys- tems, has moved to a larger facility. With 30 percent more space then its previ- ous location, the firm also enjoys higher crane capacity and a new demonstration and testing center.
