Linear Transfer Systems, Barrie, Ontario, Canada, a supplier of press transfer systems, blank-feed sys- tems, press-to-press automation and part-stack- ing apparatus, has been acquired by The Flodraulic Group, Indianapolis, IN, and renamed Linear Transfer Automation.
Cincinnati Inc. Has New Canadian Representation
Elliott-Matsuura Canada Inc., Oakville, Ontario, has been appointed the distribu- tor for Cincinnati Inc. for six Eastern Canadian provinces—Ontario, Que- bec, New Brunswick, New- foundland, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. Cincinnati Inc. manufac- tures laser-cutting machines, press brakes and shears.
S & S Hinge Grows Through Acquisition
The continuous-hinge manufacturing assets of Beehler Corp., Mountain Grove, MO, have been acquired by S & S Hinge Co., Bloomingdale, IL. As a result of the consolidation, all assets acquired will move to the S & S Hinge facility.

Danish Windmill Manufacturer Ramping up in North America
Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S, which in 2008 opened its first North Amer- ican manufacturing plant in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, now employs 1200 here in
engineering, service and skilled labor. The firm expects that number to grow to more than 4000 by the end of 2010, including plans to build new assembly factories in Colorado (Brighton and Pueblo), as well as continue to build up its U.S. headquarters in Houston, TX, and establish a new research and develop- ment center in Boston, MA.
“Vestas is developing its U.S. supply chain in areas such as castings, metal fab- rication, composites, bear- ings, gears and electro- mechanical components,” says company executive Soren Husted.

GR Spring & Stamping, Grand Rapids, MI, a manu- facturer of custom stampings, value-added assemblies, springs and slideformed products, has been named Michigan Manufacturer of the Year by the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA).
The award was presented to company chairman and CEO Jim Zawacki on May 12 at the 2009 MMA CEO Forum in Lansing, MI.
