Burloak Adds 300-Ton Servo Press
Burloak Tool, Burlington, Ontario, Canada, has commis- sioned a new 300-ton direct-drive servo press for production stamping. The press, the firm’s first servo model, features a bed size greater than 68 by 35 in. and is complemented by a high-speed feed line. The press’s heavy-duty frame, combined with the servo-driven ram, promises to provide high-accuracy stamping even in high-strength steels, say company officials. Complete control of the force curve will provide a wide range of motion patterns, including pulse, double-strike, and even slow- ing the head at point of contact to improve drawability.
Says Sean Brown, company president and CEO: “I’m excited for our customers. Adding a servo press is an exciting new option for them. Burloak can handle their most crucial parts and man- ufacture them within a two-day truck of half the continent.”
