Specialty Strip & Oscillat- ing, Inc., Masury, OH, a suppli- er of conventional slit and oscillate coils, has announced new slitter capabilities. The company manufactures coils that can run 20 to 25 miles continuously, allowing manu- facturers to run a coil uninter- rupted for 10 to 15 times longer than with the conven- tional ribbon-wound coils. It announced that it now can process steel coils to 0.003-in. gauge. Prior to that, the com- pany processed to 0.008-in. gauge. In addition to the new gauge offerings, the company can process steel coils to a 250-in. width.
Staufen-Schuler teams identify areas of untapped potential and work with press shops on improvements. Such areas include overall equip- ment efficiency (OEE), die- change optimizations and the implementation of total pro- ductive maintenance (TPM), as well as setup time and out- put and logistics optimizations.
