  Software for Manufacturing
Tebis Release Provides Fast Operation and Improved Productivity
For this complex part, Tebis Version 4.0 Release 5 automatically selects the total of 705 tools for collision- free machining of the 270 features in just 2 min.—a time savings of 80 percent in comparison with the pre- vious version.
for tool adaptations. The optimization of trim lines leads to the elimination of laser- trim tryouts later on in the process, which significantly reduces lead time and costs. AutoForm: www.autoform.com
  Tebis America, Troy, MI, has
announced the release of its Version
4.0 Release 5 software for tool, die
and mold design for the automotive-
and aerospace-manufacturing indus-
tries. The release features automated
NC programming based on templates
with process libraries that enable
fast and reliable procedures and processes that include simulating machine operation, working with tool sets, searching for tools in feature machining or exchanging tools in the Job Manager. Users also can easily edit large and complex parts with Tebis.
SigmaTek Systems, a CAD/CAM nest- ing-product provider, has released the latest version of SigmaNest X1.3. Inno- vations include new CAD repair geometry, PDF and image import modules, and task-parameter dialog box; enhanced fea- tures for punching; new common-line punch features; and a new SigmaNest help center.
On reroughing this mold component, the new version can save the user up to 60 percent in calculation time.
SigmaNest now is available as a 64- bit program, giving SigmaNest access to more memory on computers with a 64- bit operating system. In addition, nesting improvements allow the HD TrueShape Plus nesting engine to operate more quickly and efficiently, and to provide the best yield possible, according to company officials.
With Version 4.0 Release 5, process bottlenecks are avoided. Developers adapted the system to optimize the use of all available memory. And, multicore technology relying on parallel processing was simultaneously integrated. The extended parallel processing saves significant time, especially in the calculation of NC programs for re- roughing. Parts can be loaded, shaded and saved with time optimization.

SigmaNest X1.3 also contains an advanced Pre-Form Punching feature that protects parts with formed features from damage by reordering the interfering hits, designating a crush zone around each forming hit and comparing it to the station diameter of nearby hits. If these zones overlap, the nearby hits are designated as preform punching hits, which can be reordered in Tool Sort. This update allows for greater efficiency and reduced material waste.
Progressive-Die Simulation Tailored for Use in Die-Design Software
AutoForm Engineering GmbH, operating in the United States as AutoForm Engineering USA, used the FABTECH 2017 stage to debut AutoForm-ProgSim, software for the simulation of progressive dies and tailored for Cimatron die-design software.

New Software Release
 AutoForm-ProgSim simulates the entire
progressive-die stamping process, including
drawing, flanging, forming and trimming
operations as well as springback evaluation.
Once the tool geometry is defined in Cima-
tron, it easily can be exported to AutoForm-
ProgSim, according to AutoForm officials.
The user then can simulate the entire stamping process and validate the results. Results such as optimized trim lines and springback can be exported back to Cimatron
