Hydrotech Expands Ohio Headquarters, Donates to Tech School
Formtek-Maine, Clinton, ME, has purchased a new Mazak 530C twin-pallet verti- cal machining center. The new machine, the eighth CNC vertical machining cen- ter installed at Formtek- Maine’s 85,000-sq.-ft. manu- facturing facility, adds manufacturing capacity for production of parts used in a variety of equipment and sys- tems produced for the press- feed and coiled-metal pro- cessing markets.

Hydrotech, Inc., a provider of fluid-power and motion- automation products, announced that it is undergo- ing a 23,000-sq.-ft. expansion to its headquarters in West Chester, OH, a suburb of Cincinnati. The expansion is necessary, according to com- pany officials, as Hydrotech has grown 14 percent per year since 2010, including hiring 35 people in the past five years with 10 more to be added before the end of 2015. The expansion is set to be completed by year’s end.

Hydrotech currently holds 26 patents for various fluid- power and motion-automa- tion products within the industrial-manufacturing industry, including a new monitoring device that plans to introduce an Internet of Things approach to preven- tive machine maintenance.
“This is a major step for- ward for us, in that it will enable us to move a lot of our outsourced work inhouse,” says Steve Peplin, Talan’s CEO, commenting on the new line. “It will move more of our manufacturing capabilities into a centralized location, which will help to further improve the ease of doing business with Talan.”

General Sheet Metal Breaks Ground for New Plant

Metal fabricator General Sheet Metal Works, Inc., South Bend, IN, has broken ground for a 180,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing and office facility in South Bend. Over the next three years, the com- pany plans to invest more
