The facility, capable of applying primer and top coat in one pass to parts as long as 17 ft., fea- tures a 170-ft. seven-stage stainless-steel cleaning system and 1300-lb. part capacity. Line speed peaks at 12 ft./min.

Turnbull and Con- gressman Huizenga first met during a government-advocacy program in Washington, D.C, in March 2014, produced by the One Voice advocacy program. One Voice, with some 3000 member companies, was cre- ated by the Precision Metal- forming Association and the National Tooling and Machin- ing Association.

Industrial Innovations Hosts U.S. Congressman
An Ideal (based in Ger- many and with U.S. operations in Rockford, IL) robotic medi- um-frequency resistance-weld- ing machine has been installed at Marlin Steel Wire, Baltimore, MD. The machine, a Versaweld model touted as only one of five in the world and the only one outside of Germany, supports welding in three dimensions. It features rotating heads that can weld along curved or irregular shapes and completes welds in 0.002 sec. Its worktable measures 4 by 10 ft.

Tube Manufacturer Invests in Electrochemical Machining
The National Institute for Metal Working Skills (NIMS) has created the GHF-NIMS Credentialing Scholarship Pro- gram, funded initially by a $100,000 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation (GHF). Grants will be made to eligible secondary and post-second- ary institutions to help build high-quality technical pro- grams. GHF provides scholar- ship funding to help students attend colleges that teach machining-based skills.
