                A Legacy of Flexible Automation
 Murata Machinery,
builder of Wiedemann
turret punch presses, is
the global leader in
automated sheet metal manufacturing sys-
tems. In 1978, Murata
built the world’s first
sheet metal FMS for
Mitsubishi Switchgear and, throughout our rich history, we have set the technological stan- dard with many firsts. In 1993, we enriched our legacy with the creation of the first servo elec- tric turret punch press. And, since 1998, the unrivaled flexibil- ity and reliability of our parts- sorting technology has paced the industry.
As global manufacturing demands forced fabricators to embrace lean production methodologies, much of the automation remained geared toward batch processing, espe- cially in the automation of turret punch presses. To eliminate shearing blanks, fabricators would buy full-sheet load/unload systems to process full sheets. In some applications, this sort of automation fit. In others, howev- er, it did not.The expected cost reduction from eliminating the
shear was offset by the expense of breaking parts out of the nest, deburring tabs, sorting parts and skeleton disposal.
The solution? Murata’s FG loading/sorting technology that processes single sheets while sorting and stacking individual parts. Murata’s FG system
comes as a single-load station or in a tower configuration. And, the standard load/unload now offers modularity that can add a tower when your production demands require it.
Murata automation is flexible and reliable enough to help you get what you want, where you want it, when you need it there!
