                  Robot Offers
Superior Path
Accuracy for Laser-
Cutting Applications
The new six-axis MC2000 Master Cut robot from Motoman is designed with high rigidity and preci- sion drives to pro- vide optimum path accuracy for laser cutting of small holes and sharp corners. Path accuracy can be within 0.1 mm, depending on the application. Cutting of shapes or profiles is simplified using Formcut software, which automatically generates the ideal path based on user- specified geometry. Circles, rectangles, ellipses, pentagons and hexagonal shapes are supported with easy definition of shape and size rotation from a single pro- grammed point. The cut- motion start and overlap, robot speed, timing options and corner radii all are
defined in a single cut.
The floor-mounted MC2000 offers
an 80.2-in. horizontal reach, 123.6-in. ver- tical reach and 110-lb. payload, ideal for a remote laser head. Position repeatability is ±0.003 in. In addition to cutting, the robot can be used for laser-welding and dispensing applications.

Linear-Rail System
Delivers Punching
Versatility
Multicyl, Bolton, Ontario, Canada, has expanded its MLR (Multicyl linear rail) system for efficient and cost-effective punching of sheet and plate, angle iron, extrusions and tubing. For example, it
recently developed an MLR system using four 20-ton double-acting DL series Mul- ticyl cylinders (also new), powering Unipunch unitized tooling. Previously, the MLR system was used only with the firm’s smaller cylinders. DL cylinders are rated to 60 tons at 120 PSI, with an overall stroke to 3.5 in. and a power stroke of 1⁄2 in.
The MLR, available with standard rail sizes from 2 to10 ft., is adjustable along the y axis with a quick- change setup to accommodate punching in various part lengths and hole combinations. The rails are designed to be compatible with stan- dard unitized tooling and work with shop air. Multicyl Inc.: 905/951-0670; www.multicyl.com
