Deep-Draw Stamper Adds 4-kW Fiber Laser
Ataco Steel Products, Cedarburg, WI, has acquired a 4-kW fiber-laser cutting system, along with a 66,000-lb.-capacity material-feed tower, from Cy Lasers. The machine is the second Cy fiber-laser cut- ting machine installed at Ataco. It will be housed in the firm’s recently completed 35,000-sq.-ft. expansion.
Three Big Press Brakes Will Support the Global LNG Industry Hydrapower International Inc., Marco
Island, FL, has received a contract to build three 3000-ton by 44-ft. press brakes for Singapore-based investment group SMGT, exactly like the press brake Hydrapower recently built and shipped to the SMGT joint-venture company in Northern Louisiana. SMGT recently developed a new method for shipping liquid-nitrogen gas (LNG) to undeveloped regions of the world. Hydrapower manu- factures bending, punching, cutting and shearing equipment.
Nuevo Leon Stamper Installs New Coe CTL Line
Coe Press Equipment, Sterling Heights, MI, has installed a cut-to-length line at metal stamper Fanasa, in Santa Catarina (Nuevo Leon), Mexico. Among the products the firm stamps are air-con- ditioning and refrigerator components, of light-gauge prepainted material. The Coe line, which includes a 48-in. ServoMas- ter roll feed, power straightener and hydraulic production shear, can process prepainted and stainless-steel sheet to 0.74 in. thick by 48 in. wide. The shear is rated to 30 cuts/min.
Ohio Pickling Facility Adds Top/Bottom Coil-Inspection System
The Samuel Steel Pickling Co. facility in Twinsburg, OH, has installed an ISRA Vision Parsytec inspection system to perform 100-percent top and bottom inspection over the complete surface of each coil. The unit identifies and classi-
fies surface defects and generates sur- face-inspection reports.
Additionally, the facility also recently acquired an inline Butech Bliss leveler, designed to remove flat-coiled shape defects such as coil set, crossbow, edge wave and center buckle. It’s rated for lev- eling 0.060- to 0.26-in. sheet to 72 in. wide. And, coming soon to the facility: a circumferential coil-strapping machine.
Lynchburg Welcomes
New Coil-Processing Facility
O’Neal Flat Rolled Metals, Birming- ham, AL, has opened a coil-processing and distribution center in Lynchburg, VA, in a 135,000-sq.-ft. warehouse formerly occupied by its sister company, O’Neal Steel. The plant will process carbon and nonferrous light-gauge flat-rolled metal products.

Content on the site, www.omax.com, is available in several languages including English, Por- tuguese, French, Spanish, German, Hindi and Chinese. Complementing the multi- lingual website are business partner- ships with distributors in 50 countries, including 12 European distributors; and technical-support personnel in Europe, Canada and Central America, with plans to add technical-support people in India and Asia.
