 New Laser at Tella Tool Can Cut 5⁄8-in. Steel
Metalformer Tella Tool & Manufactur- ing Co. has installed a new Trumpf Tru- Laser 1030 three-axis laser-cutting machine at its facility in Lombard, IL. The machine can cut mild steel to 5⁄8 in. thick.
Central Steel Now a Source for Prepainted Coil
Chicago-based Central Steel & Wire Co. now is inventorying prepainted steel and aluminum coil. The metal-service center operates facilities in Cincinnati, OH; Detroit, MI; Milwaukee, WI; Greens- boro, NC; and Portage, IN.
New Press on the Way to Wisconsin
Metalformer and die builder Tools, Inc. announced plans to commission a new 660-ton Stamtec S2-144-55 mechanical press at its facility in Sus- sex, WI. The new press will run pro- gressive dies at 25 to 60 strokes/min. The firm also operates 95-, 200-, 300 and 600-ton mechanical presses as well as deep-draw hydraulic presses to 1000-ton capacity, and maintains a complete tool and die division.
Bettcher Expanding in Reynosa
Metal stamper Bettcher Manufactur- ing, McAllen, TX, is putting the finishing touches on a 15,000-sq.-ft. expansion of its facility in Reynosa, Mexico. The 12-yr.-old plant, which expanded by 10,000 sq. ft. in 2007, supplies a vari- ety of industries including HVAC, refrig- eration, home appliance and commer- cial truck. This latest addition will
allow the firm to add high-tonnage stamping capacity, and three new dock doors.
