Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania recently pre- sented Ametek Reading Alloys, Robeso- nia, PA, its Innovative Application of Technology award. Reading Alloys, which produces titanium master alloys and highly engineered metal powders, has focused recently on metal-powder appli- cations for the medical industry, and opened a new manufacturing plant in Robesonia to better serve that segment of its business.
Certifications
Metalformer Bazz Houston, Garden Grove, CA, has been certified as an ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) registered facility. ITAR designation certi-
fies compliance with the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act, authorizing the company to manufacture and ship military and defense parts. Bazz Houston manu- factures springs, stampings and wire forms, as well as assemblies and tooling.
The Robotic Industries Association (RIA), Ann Arbor, MI, has announced its first group of Certified Robot Integrators, since launching the program in January 2012. Receiving the designation: JR Automation, Holland, MI; Motion Con- trols Robotics, Fremont, OH; Tennessee Rand, Chattanooga, TN; and Wolf Robot- ics, Ft. Collins, CO. To become certified, integrators undergo an on-site audit, safety training and hands-on testing of key personnel.

MetalForming magazine columnist (Tooling by Design) Pete Ulintz, of the Anchor Manufacturing Group, Cleveland, OH, was elected to a 2-yr. term as vice president of the North American Deep Drawing Research Group (NADDRG). The group strives to foster and encourage metalforming research in the areas of materials, tool and die design, lubrica- tion, testing and fabrication.
