Irish Ag Supplier
The Fisher-Barton Group, Waukesha, WI, an OEM supplier of lawn-mower blades and agricultural knives, acquired Lund Precision Products Ltd., Ireland, from U.S.-based Lund Precision Group. The firm’s plant in Athlone, Ireland, man- ufactures agricultural tillage tools, har- vesting equipment and crop-movement equipment.
Tower Oil Receives
Nissan Approval
Nissan North America has awarded Automotive Approval to Tower Oil & Tech- nology Co., Chicago, IL, for its Klenedraw 4701 stamping lubricant. Nissan uses the synthetic lubricant—oil-, chlorine- and sulfur-free—for punching, forming and drawing.
Merger: Plante Moran
and Blackman Kallick
Effective July 1, 2012, the merger of Plante Moran and Blackman Kallick cre- ated Chicago’s seventh largest account- ing, tax and consulting firm. Its three local offices will serve more than 5000 companies, primarily middle-market Mid- west firms in the manufacturing, real estate and construction sectors. Overall, the newly united company will employ more than 2000 people working in 22 Midwest-U.S. offices and three interna- tional offices.

There’s a lot of news coming out of precision metal fabricator Triton Indus- tries, Inc., Chicago, IL, as the firm pre- pares to handle anticipated growth dur- ing Q3. Notably, the firm welcomed new chief engineer Ray Graciano, who, among other tasks, will ensure that the firm’s newest capital-equipment addi- tion—an Amada FOM2 laser-cutting machine—operates at its peak level of
performance. Triton works out of a 100,000-sq.-ft. facility to perform laser cutting, prototyping, bending, punching, forming, welding and more.

Lands at Premier Tool & Mfg.
Premier Tooling & Mfg. Inc., Peosta, IA, has acquired a 3000-W 5- by 10-ft. fiber-laser cutting machine from Ermak- san, a Turkish company with U.S. head- quarters in Elk Grove Village, IL. Premier, a woman-owned full-service stamping and tool and die company, operates
43 presses and employs 170 people.

Trumpf Machine for
Reflective-Material Cutting
A Trumpf TruLaser 1030 laser-cutting machine has landed on the shop floor of Ohio Laser, Plain City, OH. The machine’s solid-state disc-style laser can process mild steel to 16 mm thick, as well as reflective metal alloys such as aluminum to 6 mm. Maximum sheet size is 1500 by 3000 mm. Ohio Laser fabricates sheet, plate and tube.
