The Science of Forming
Some excellent FEs are active in the metalforming industry. Unfortunately, the opportunities for practical train- ing of these people have been very limited, as most FEs have been self-taught on the job. Training centers will not be established until requests for FEs reach a critical mass. How- ever, press shops will not request an FE until they have heard FE success stories and understand their impact in the pressroom. Hopefully metalforming organizations will begin to work together to undertake this project. MF
