New Name for
Iowa Metal Spinners
Kryton Engineered Met- als is the new name taken by Iowa Metal Spinners, Cedar Falls, IA. The firm spe- cializes in custom and pro- duction spun metal parts, while also offering fabrica- tion services including form- ing, rolling, machining, weld- ing and fastening.

A 150,000-sq.-ft. expan- sion is under construction at the corporate headquarters of metals service center Yarde Metals, Inc., in Southington, CT. The addi- tion, slated for completion this spring, will house a Herr-
Voss cut-to-length line rated for coils to 50,000 lb., of stock to 1⁄4 in. thick by 72 in. wide, and equipped with PVC and paper interleaving equip- ment. Sharing the addition will be three shears and a 4-million-lb.-capacity sheet- racking system.

D&S Manufacturing, Black River Falls, WI, announced plans to invest in a new pro- duction cell centered around a Toyoda FA800 horizontal machining center (31.5 by 31.5-in. pallet size, 40-hp spindle motor), flanked by a pair of six-axis ABB robotic welders.
D&S manufactures large- scale components and assemblies for a customer list that includes Caterpillar, Oshkosh Corp. and The Trane Co.
Autodie Plans
$24 million Investment
A 12- to 18-month mod- ernization plan has been hatched by Autodie, Grand Rapids, MI, to upgrade its CNC milling capabilities and improve its overall plant infrastructure. The large-scale manufacturer of automotive stamping dies aims to dramatically improve lead time and quality levels for its customers, domesti- cally and abroad.
