Press-Brake Maker Safan to Develop Distributor Network
Finn-Power Oy (a Prima Industrie Group company), Kauhava, Finland, and
Safan BV, Lochem, Nether- lands, have jointly terminat- ed their press-brake distri- bution agreement effective January 1. As a result, Finn- Power will develop its own line of electric and hydraulic press brakes to be distrib- uted worldwide by the Prima/ Finn-Power sales organiza- tion. Safan BV will distribute its electric and hydraulic press brakes, as well as its shears and robotic press brakes, through its own net- work of subsidiaries, agents
and dealers. Finn-Power will continue to offer after-sale service on its installed base of press brakes.
Miller Electric Forges Strategic Partnership to Further its Robotic- Welding Prowess
A new business unit has been formed—Miller Weld- ing Automation—by Miller Electric Mfg., Co., Appleton, WI, following its acquisition of the welding-automation- related assets of Panasonic Factory Solutions Co. of America, Rolling Meadows, IL.
The new business unit combines Panasonic robotic and electronic technology with Miller’s welding prod- ucts, services and support, and will offer an array of integrated systems and stand-alone automated
welding components. On
the horizon: a new, dedicat- ed welding-automation facili- ty in Carol Stream, IL.
