Level Round Parts in One Pass
German manufacturer Arku, with U.S. headquarters in Cincinnati, OH, introduces the FlatMaster 88 to its line of hydraulic parts levelers. Unveiled at EuroBlech 2010 in October, the precision leveler is particularly well suited for leveling of round parts. Using previous leveler models, axially symmetric parts typically must be leveled twice,
with intermediate 90-deg. rotation. The FlatMaster 88 is equipped with a turntable for automatic part rotation and can therefore level in both directions. Productivity can increase by more than 50 percent, while manual material handling is reduced significantly. Material thickness capacity: 23 mm.

Imagine: Laser and
Plasma Cutting
on the Same Table
Hypertherm, Hanover, NH, has a new fiber-laser cutting system, the HFL015, which includes the power source, cutting head, gas supply, operator-interface con- soles, motion controls and software. The system operates on Hypertherm control platforms, with predeveloped cutting process- es, for simplified cutting-table integration and operation. A single-emitter diode- based design enables extremely reliable performance, say company officials we met with during Fabtech in early November.
“Fabricators no longer have to choose between plasma and laser,” says Doug Shuda, fiber laser product manager. “They can choose both (on the same cut- ting table), applying the best cutting tech- nology for each particular job.” Compared to CO2 lasers, developers of fiber lasers cite benefits including minimized main-
    New Press Blank Feeder/Coater System
Only from Union Tool
Rely on Union Tool for press blank handling and processing solutions that help maintain quality while reducing costs. This new system de-stacks individual steel blanks, applies lubricant and then locates
the blank directly into the press
– all automatically. Union roller
coaters apply controlled and
consistent amounts of lubrication
for fewer rejects and less scrap.
