Wintriss Management Team Agrees
to Acquire Company
Wintriss Controls Group LLC, Acton, MA, has agreed to acquire Honeywell Win- triss Controls, led by the current management team of Mark Hatch, Dick LaBelle, Andy Baker, Ashok Bhide and Dawn Whelpley. The company will continue to operate from its current location, manufacturing press-automation controls, safety clutch/brake controls, safety light curtains and data-collection software.
Prab Becomes Exclusive Distributor for the Neff Press MetalBrik Line
Through an exclusive pri- vate-label distributor agree- ment, Prab, Inc., Kalama- zoo, MI, has become the exclusive distributor for the MetalBrik line of metal-chip compaction equipment from Neff Press, Inc., St. Louis, MO. The agreement covers distribution throughout the world with the exception of Missouri and part of Illinois. MetalBrik hydraulic presses compact metal chips into nearly solid and fluid-free briquettes.
Cosma Auto-Chassis Line Developed to Take On Solar-System Work
Solar-array manufacturer Skyline Solar, Mountain View, CA, has begun com- mercial production of the racking and structural com- ponents of its new high-gain solar (HGS) arrays at the Cosma metal-stamping facility in Troy, MI. Cosma
and Skyline Solar collabo- rated on product design and materials optimization, including the development of the HGS structure so that it would fit into Cosma’s standard plant layout devel- oped for large-volume met- alforming and assembly.
According to Skyline Solar, each HGS array con- sists of two main components: a reflective rack with inte- grated tracking, and four rows of high-gain solar panels along its edges.
Cosma’s initial produc- tion line is expected to yield 1000 units per month.
Global Metal Spinning Takes on Denn Equipment Line
Global Metal Spinning Solutions, Colorado Springs, CO, now represents Spanish machinery builder Denn, which produces metal-spin- ning and flow-forming equipment, including equip- ment for wheel forming, tube necking and closing, and pulley forming, as well as circular shears, and sheet- and plate-bending rolls.

Independent research firm Frost & Sullivan pre- sented ERP-software vendor Plex Systems its 2009 Excellence in Best Practices Award, in recognition of its commitment to technology and customer value. The awards, say Frost & Sulli- van, go to companies that have “identified emerging trends before they became
the standard in the market- place, and have created technologies that will cat- alyze and transform indus- tries in the near future.”

Mate Precision Tooling Expands in Latin America
Press-tooling manufac- turer Mate Precision Tooling, Anoka, MN, has expanded its network of sales repre- sentatives and dealers in Latin America, and institut- ed new customer-service and marketing initiatives. Mate also appointed Gus Escobar as sales engineer for the Baja, CA and Sonora area; and Victor Rodriquez as a representative in Mexico for Monterrey, Reynosa and Juarez. New dealers: Censa Tools (Baja, CA), CESMI Manutencao e Montagens Ltda (Sao Paulo, Brazil), and Proingas, S.A. (Chile).
Finally, at its U.S. head- quarters, Mate has added three Spanish-speaking service representatives and one Portuguese-speaking representative, and installed a dedicated Spanish-lan- guage customer-service phone line, 763/576-3700.
