 Traveling Clamps for Metal Stamping
Pascal Engineering, manufacturer of a wide range of quick-die-change solutions for stamping presses, has introduced a new and improved model TRA traveling clamp, with a traveling speed of 2 sec. for a 600-mm stroke. Its base block is fabricated from aluminum that enables a 30-percent weight reduction over the previous model (20 kg for 600-mm stroke). And, it comes with a sprocket for smooth traveling action, and an improved roller chain design to be more lightweight and durable, even when clamps travel overspeed.

  Abrasive Process Solutions Program
Saint-Gobain Abrasives has introduced its Norton Abrasive Process Solutions (APS) program, established to help cus- tomers determine the optimal grinding or finishing solution for the application at hand, ranging from simple to complex, off-hand or automated, and for metal fab- rication, production grinding and virtually any abrasive operation. The APS Program is positioned to be an extension of the customer, where tests can be conducted so that customers do not have to reassign limited inhouse resources and pause their own production.
The APS automation cell can deliver abrasive-to-part and part-to-abrasive appli- cations, wet/dry processing, and use a full range of abrasives such as coated, non-woven, thin-wheel, bonded and superabrasives. Equipped with a verified turnkey solution, manufacturers then can contact an automation system integrator to implement the solution. The cell features an industrial robot with a 210-kg load capacity and fitted with an end-of-arm gripper to allow for part-to-media process- ing, as well as tool changers that use tra- ditional hand tools to perform abrasive- to-part processing.
